Watching live television on a laptop or PC?
• If you watch or record television programmes as they are being shown on TV you must, by law, be covered by a TV Licence, no matter what device you are using.
• The university does not have a licence which covers rooms or communal areas in halls of residence. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that they have obtained the appropriate licence if they are watching live TV on a television, PC or laptop.

Network Access Control:
Due to a new security system now in place on the student resnet, all student PC's/Laptops are required to meet the University's security requirements before access is allowed. This is to ensure your machine is up to date with regards to patches and anti virus software(a copy of which can be downloaded free of charge when you arrive on campus).
